Primary sources — E.W. Bullinger
Ethelbert William Bullinger (1837–1913) was an Anglican theologian and biblical scholar, known as the author of Number in Scripture (1894) and A Critical Lexicon and Concordance to the English and Greek New Testament (1895). His work moves at the intersection of hermeneutics, apologetics, and biblical numerology. His central thesis: the numerical patterns throughout the Bible — in both content and word frequency — are statistically impossible by chance and prove divine authorship. Theologically Bullinger stands in the dispensationalist tradition; his doctrine of inspiration is strictly verbal and literal.
