Apokatastasis (Greek: ἀποκατάστασις πάντων) literally means: the restoration of all things. It is the theological doctrine that God will ultimately bring all of creation to full reconciliation and restoration — not as a concession, but as the triumph of his unconquerable love. It lies at the foundation of what many call Universal Reconciliation or Universalism.
The term appears in Acts 3:21, where Peter speaks of “the times of restoration of all things”.
