George Warnock — Eschatology

b8 — Seven Lamps of Fire

Israel’s Restoration and the Fullness of the Gentiles

Warnock frames Israel’s future restoration within the structure of the Olive Tree (Rom. 11). The “hardening” of Israel’s heart is temporary and provisional, not permanent rejection.

“The nation of Israel did not receive their Messiah, because of the hardening of their hearts… God did not stop the clock of His purposes pertaining to Israel.” [b8, Chapter 1]

“It was just the unbelieving branches that were cut off.” [b8, Chapter 1]

On the grafting of Gentiles: “He chose to bring the Gentiles into the Covenant, by grafting these wild olive branches into the tree of Israel.”

Warnock cites Zech. 12:10 as Israel’s future recognition of the Messiah:

“They shall look upon Me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for Him” (Zech. 12:10). [b8, Chapter 1]

Interpretation: God’s eschatological timeline includes Israel’s restoration after the Gentile fullness. This is not supersessionism but sequential covenant-fulfillment.

Tribulation and Church Preparation

Warnock rejects the pre-tribulation rapture as an escape narrative:

“Jesus warned His disciples before He went away that prior to His coming there would be very turbulent times in the earth, and exhorted them to be always praying, always walking before God in vigilance and sobriety” [b8, Chapter 1, citing Luke 21:36]

On the Mark of God: “God has a mark reserved for His people, which will immunize them against the onslaughts of Satan… It is the mark of His Spirit imprinted in our minds — God’s seal.” [b8, Chapter 1]

Interpretation: Warnock teaches that tribulation comes, but the Spirit-marked church has spiritual protection and victory even amid persecution, not physical escape.

The Kingdom: Now and Coming

Warnock holds a “already but not yet” kingdom theology:

“The Kingdom came when John proclaimed it, and the Lord Jesus continued to proclaim it. Christ is now on the throne that was promised to David, ‘a High Priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek.‘” [b8, Chapter 7]

“His reign is present: ‘He will reign on His throne until all enemies are subdued under His feet.‘” [b8, Chapter 7]

On gradual kingdom expansion: “The Kingdom did not come with observation… it has been flourishing ever since — appearing first as the blade, then as the ear.” God “will continue to purge the church and the earth, until Righteousness shall prevail.” [b8, Chapter 7]

Interpretation: Warnock’s eschatology rejects sudden catastrophic intervention models. The kingdom grows organically and spiritually, with Christ’s present reign ensuring victory.

Creation’s Liberation and Cosmic Renewal

Warnock links the church’s spiritual victory to cosmic restoration:

“The earnest expectation of the creature (creation) waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God” (Rom. 8:19). The sons must “radiate the glory of the Son, not their own glory.” [b8, Chapter 7]

“Creation is groaning and travailing… It is because they have hope of deliverance in the unveiling of the sons of God.” [b8, Chapter 7]

“When God’s people return to Him: the pastures of the wilderness do spring, for the tree beareth her fruit” (Joel 2:22). [b8, Chapter 7]

Interpretation: Eschatological renewal is not merely spiritual or personal; it embraces the physical creation. God’s people’s sanctification has ecological and cosmic implications.
