George H. Warnock — Creation
b8 — Seven Lamps of Fire
Cosmic Deliverance of Creation
Warnock connects the outpouring of the Spirit in the end times with the cosmic deliverance of creation from Romans 8. Creation waits with earnest expectation for the manifestation of the sons of God.
“For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God.” [b8, Rom. 8:19]
Warnock places this deliverance within the perspective of the heavenly feasts: the spiritual harvest of the church (the Feast of Tabernacles) has cosmic consequences. The Spirit operates not merely on a personal and ecclesiastical level, but at the level of the entire creation.
“Fear not, you beasts of the field; for the pastures of the wilderness are springing up, for the tree bears its fruit, the fig tree and the vine give their strength.” [b8, Joel 2:22]
This prophecy (Joel 2:22) testifies to cosmic transformation: the beasts no longer fear, the wilderness becomes green, fertility is restored. Warnock interprets this as a sign of God’s sovereign restoration work in the end times, whereby creation receives deliverance from corruption and suffering.
Relation to Doctrine of God
Warnock’s treatment of cosmic deliverance rests upon God’s sovereignty: His heavenly throne-dominion (Ezek. 1 → Rev. 4) determines the future of all creation. The Seven Spirits (the sevenfold fullness of God’s Spirit) are the instrument by which God restores and perfects creation.
